8 common dressing mistakes you should stop

8 COMMON DRESSING MISTAKES YOU ARE MAKING

We all love to look chic and classy, but sometimes we go overboard about it, which only results in some terrible dressing mistakes.

Trying to wrap your head around such mistakes? Worry no more. We have done the background work already and all you need to do is read along and see those mistakes you are still making.

#1 Not properly fitting tailoring your dresses

Don’t get this wrong; we are not saying you should employ a seamstress for this cause. But the truth is, every ready-made dress or even locally acquired dress needs minor tucks, adjustments, and trims.

Ready-made stores usually have their items in standard sizes. However, little changes like fixing, putting darts, or taking in the waist area will go far in making you look more organized and articulate.

#2 Not checking marks or care instructions.

Instructions play a key role in maintenance. Read guidelines on how to wash and care for dresses when you buy them.

Following this will build life and protect the appearance of your dress. It's grievous to realize that a particular harm might have been avoided if you had read the guidelines.

If you are going to make those dresses last a little longer then do not hesitate to read the instructions on how to properly care for them.

#3 Hiding under baggy clothes

Why hide your holiday weight under clothing that is two sizes bigger? you would only end up looking unattractive – you sure do not want that.

Dress to accentuate and highlight your figure, and find dresses you’re comfortable in, and you’ll always look great and extraordinary.

#4 Always carrying super heavy bags.

Asides from the discomfort this causes you, and the way it spoils your good posture, it should be emphasized that this can lead to serious health implications too.

Learn to take only the necessary things you would need for the day or better yet, keep them in your car (if you have one).

If you have to leave home with a heavy bag, learn to put it in a place and not move around with it.

#5 Choosing excessively high heels.

Coupled with the discomfort they cause you; badass high-heeled shoes and stilettos are not too healthy for you and your health.

An alternative is to carry a ‘flat shoe’ with you when necessary.

If it is necessary that you have to wear them for a long; pick heels that look formal and are not too high or cause pain to your shoes in the long run. Another alternative is to take your flat heels slippers or slides and alternate them at intervals.

#6 Wearing the wrong underwear

This is a no-no! Regardless of how well you are dressed, some unacceptable bra could destroy the outfit.

Make it a point to pick the correct style of bra depending on your outfit. This goes for your other type of underwear too. Click here to know how to choose the right bra size for you.

#7 Over-accessorising

Truly, less is more and this is applicable here. Accessories are nice and necessary, but they should not overpower what you are wearing or even speak more than your outfit. Instead, they should complement it.

#8 Choosing trends over body fit.

We are all guilty of keeping up with the times, this is wrong. It should only be if the new style or trend suits your body type and style.

Following fashion trends if you aren’t comfortable with them is only going to make you feel and look awkward.

We are supportive of keeping track of the trends. But, if the new trend suits your body type and style should you go for it.

However, it is better to always choose body fit over trends and this is why you should be self-aware and understand your body.
