Differences between a deodorant and a perfume spray

We all sweat. The real problem is when ordinary sweat turns into an extraordinary body odor.

The key to keeping body odor and sweat under control is using a good deodorant and topping it off with a few sprays of perfume.

So let's start with this

What makes the sweat smell?

First, you’ve got the sweat that comes from your endocrine glands, which keeps you cool by secreting water and salt. They don’t smell bad at all.

You also have the sweat that comes from the apocrine glands. They leave deposits of fat and protein in your body. Mix these with the bacteria on your skin and this develops into a body odor.

A deodorant can never be replaced with perfume, and perfume can never be replaced by a deodorant.

So what is the difference between a deodorant and a perfume and why should you wear both instead of just buying one?

A deodorant is composed of fragrances (that give a particular scent ) and deodorizers (that help to control natural body odors). Deodorants do not stop body odor, but they can suppress and neutralize the odors that result from bacteria and sweat together. Deodorants are alcohol based with chemicals added while a perfume contains only fragrances and a solvent that will help dissolve these fragrances. It sure gives a particular scent but does not contain deodorizers that can help suppress body odor. Perfume is used to give you a particular sweet-smelling scent you so desire.

A deodorant is used to mask body odor produced by the bacteria that thrive on sweat. Sweat as a body fluid does not have a strong odor, but the bacteria do. These bacteria thrive in warm moist places like the armpits and other areas of the body.

A deodorant essentially masks odors while a perfume gives you a signature scent depending on what you want whether there is a body odor involved. A deodorant should last you the whole day, but a perfume lasts according to the type you decide to get.

A deodorant is essentially rubbed under the armpit as this is where odor majorly comes from, especially because of sweat, and can be applied to other parts of the body if necessary while a perfume can be used on your dress or the pulse points on your body to ensure it lasts longer. A deodorant usually contains a lesser amount of fragrance compared to perfume.

So in summary, the two main differences between a deodorant and a perfume are the ingredient composition and their usage.

Now you’ve got the facts. Wear a deodorant together with a complementary body spray every day to help you keep dry and smell great. Yes, get your perfume and deodorant, not perfume or deodorant.
