How to smell great without perfumes

Some other days, you just do not feel like using any sort of perfume or fragrance products, and that is totally fine and acceptable. For most girls, it is usually during their period or pregnancy when they are highly restless and irritable. Does that imply that during these periods, they cannot smell as good as they imagine? Definitely no! Here are some tested, trusted, and proven ways to smell superb without using perfumes. Keep reading.

6 ways to smell great without perfumes.

Take care of your private part

Smelly private parts can amount to permanent odor over time because of the shared molecules between your lingerie and your skin. This is because your lingerie is really close and in direct contact with your skin. Ladies should be on alert because we have a more open private part compared to our male counterparts.

Discharges are healthy because your vagina must be continually moist, but improper care makes your vagina angry and it punishes you by smelling.

Infections are common during summer because some microorganisms strive better with heat most especially in private parts. During this period, people develop bacterial and fungus infections as compared with cool weather. Also, note that the color of discharge signifies a lot of things medically.

There are some types of fabrics you need to avoid

You need to avoid any fabric that is going to cling or trap heat. A perfect example is black-colored clothing. Not only are these clothing items begging for sweat stains, but they can also absorb excess sweat and moisture.

Here is what the Lead Consultant at 'Body Wahala consult and co' has to say:
"Stick to light-colored fabrics. When you are choosing clothing for a hot day, you should go for fabrics that are light in color. Pastels and colors on the lighter end of the spectrum, such as white, beige, and gray, are all good options as they will absorb less sun than darker colors.
Avoid clothing in dark colors or jewel tones, like emerald, purple, or blue. You should also avoid black clothing, as it will trap light and make you feel hotter in hot weather" - Bunmi Precious

This means that the clothes you're wearing can literally cause you to smell worse throughout the day. Wearing clothing more than once isn't a good idea also, especially one that has absorbed sweat before. So ditch your heavier wardrobe this hot season in favor of lighter ones and more breathable fabrics.

Talking about breathable fabrics, you should avoid synthetic clothes and lingeries. Totally avoid nylon, polyester, rayon, and wool fabrics for the sake of fresh air. Go for cotton and other naturally produced fabrics that will allow fresh air into your body.

Water; Drink and Bathe

Drink Plenty of Water to clean yourself internally. Also, begin and end your day with bathing to take care of yourself externally. It is essential to take good care of your body, both internally and externally with water.

While you take good care of your skin by bathing with natural cold water, you should also take good care of the internal organs by drinking lots of water. If there is one thing you can do to keep smelling good, it’s to drink water.

Water keeps your body running normally, as it relates to helping you smell good because water dilutes scents that may be a little unpleasant — like garlic, onions, and coffee breath.

Bathing refreshes your whole body, cleans off your stains, and makes you stay clear of sweat, and this is more reason why it shouldn't be done just once a day, especially in this hot weather. A lady menstruating should bathe as many times as possible. It is important that you keep your private area as clean as possible.

Freshfood and Veggies

You are what you eat, eating lots of fresh food, including fruits, vegetables, and clean protein really keeps the body fresh and running smoothly, thus providing the perfect substrate for fragrance.  And the main culprits that'll make you smell include spices, garlic, onion, and alcohol.

Accessories

Avoid wearing any accessories that could be bogging you down. From backpacks to statement necklaces, there are many accessories that help to trap heat and cause sweat. Over-accessorizing in this hot weather could be the reason that you aren't smelling your best. It's tragic and unbelievable, but true!

Understand your body

Lastly, take time to understand yourself and your body. Let me use myself as an example. I love wearing sleeveless, shorts and net clothes during this season so as to sweat less, I take my hand fan with me wherever I go, and I carry my fragrance with me wherever I go. I wear jackets that I can easily remove when I feel uncomfortable, and the list goes on and on.

What works for you might be totally different. You might decide to carry a reachable fan with you, but I am not always comfortable doing that except in rare cases, in fact, I am trying to incorporate that into my routine and I hope I will get used to it soon.

So understand yourself, and this will help you take some necessary decisions as regards your body, since you understand it best. Seek medical help when necessary and you wouldn't regret it.

So with that, I will be wrapping up today's edition. I love comments and reviews, do well to drop yours before exiting here, it really means a lot to me. Catch you in our next edition. See ya!
